Yes. The Romanian Doctor-Medic degree falls under the automatic recognition regime of EU Directive 2005/36/EC (annex V.1). It gives you the same rights as a medical degree awarded by any other member state. One caveat: recognition of the degree does not exempt you from your own country’s specialty-training entrance route — in France, the EDN/ECOS national exams.
The first three years can be taken in English or French, depending on the track you choose. From third year, clinical placements take place in hospitals, where Romanian becomes essential for talking to patients. Most universities offer a preparatory language year or build medical Romanian into the curriculum.
Tuition ranges from €5,000 to €8,500 a year depending on the university and the language of instruction. On top of that come accommodation (€200–400/month depending on the city) and living costs (~€300/month). Over six years the total lands between €60,000 and €90,000.
